Yoga for Self Awareness

Yoga is so much more than a workout—for me, it’s a space where I can embrace being human, imperfections and all, while finding real healing and balance. I’ve recently been diving into some incredible Integrative Yoga Therapy training through Kripalu, and I’m honestly buzzing with new ideas that I can't wait to share with you.

Unlike a standard gym class, Yoga Therapy looks at you as a whole person through the lens of the "five layers of self" and the "eight limbs of yoga." It’s not about following a rigid routine; it’s about meeting you exactly where you are right now.

Think about what your body and mind actually need:

  • Do you want to feel stronger or more flexible?

  • Are you dealing with lower back pain or looking to lower your stress and anxiety?

  • Is there an activity you’ve stopped doing—like gardening or dancing—that you’d love to get back to?

By using tools like mindful movement, breathwork, and even simple hand gestures (mudras) or sounds (mantras), we can do more than just stretch. We create a chance to really "witness" what’s happening with our physical bodies, our energy levels, and our emotions.

That self-awareness is the "secret sauce." Once you start noticing your patterns, you gain the power to make real changes that lead to optimum wellness.
